Overview

Context

What is AJIO Business?

AJIO business is a leading B2B lifestyle platform for retailers and small shop owners to sources lifestyles products like clothing, footwear and accessories, directly from and manufacturers as well as in-house brands of Reliance group.

Objectives
  • Understand Retailers and their customer's ecosystem.

  • Understand the retailer's pain points in their post-purchase journey and search for underlying patterns.

  • Understand their inventory management system.

  • Explore how they plan their inventory, sell and clear out any dead stock.

Process

Hypothesis

Solve the gaps in the selling process to help them sell more because if the retailers will sell more they will end up buying more.

Methodology

GENERATIVE RESEARCH

  • Screener- We collaborated with the product team to extract data of the retailers whose sales dropped in last 6 months and selected a diverse group of 30 retailers that varied in their Product categories, geographic location (within India), and last date of purchase.

  • Remote Moderation- Since travelling to distant locations was time consuming so my team had some interviews to be conducted online over phone calls.

My Approach

All the data was recorded was transcripts into fig jam and later all the collected information was grouped into different buckets to draw behavioural patterns from it. What you see is the grouped findings collected which helped us create user personas and draw user journeys and pain points.

User Persona

Personas were developed after data synthesis of over 30 user interviews.

It is important to note, that these personas do not represent the whole population’s experience, simply those we talked to within the project’s scope which may lean towards a more privileged group of individuals.

Outcome

The final outcome was design directions to help further design team to explore new improvements

  • Image based search and product recommendation will help retailers search for customer demanded products and recommend similar products available.

  • With help of POS can gauge the selling stocks and give more enriched product recommendations.

  • Help them with tips and tricks to upsell and grow their rating.
    AJIO can reward them with some ratings or positions to showcase in shops.

  • Create product demand need:
    Barcodes on tags can give the customers the preview of the brand collection.
    product images, catalog.
    with no price details.
    similar style in the collection.
    sharing the retailer any product demand.

  • For retailers with POS machine

    Need scanners in shop and on scanning the tag, opens the virtual catalogue of the shop

  • Catalogue creation of purchased items for quick sharing.
